To provide a complete commercial procurement function for all the society’s expenditure with external suppliers responsible for the provision of professional expertise and at the forefront regarding the implementation and development of procurement strategies.
To develop strategic and operating plans to insure that the company has the appropriate resources to support current forecasted business and projected growth to communicate resource plans to gain consensus from sales, supply chain, and manufacturing /distribution models to determine and validate business strategies
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Sourcing:
Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers.
Negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms, pricing, and quality standards.
Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry regulations, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Drug Master File (DMF), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), European Medicines Agency (EMA), and others.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Supplier & Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with various departments, including Quality Assurance, Production, Finance and R&D teams, to understand material needs.
Manage supplier performance through regular assessments and audits.
Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality assurance.
Performance Tracking & Reporting:
Define and implement KPIs to track procurement efficiency, cost savings, and supplier performance.
Analyze market trends, pricing, and risk factors to optimize procurement strategies.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management on procurement activities, savings, and risks.
Process Improvement & Compliance:
Develop and improve procurement policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
Ensure all purchases comply with company policies, ethical standards, and industry regulations.
Lead initiatives to streamline procurement processes and implement cost-reduction strategies.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 15 years of experience in procurement within the pharmaceutical sector and expertise in the importation logistics process.
At least 3 to 5 years in a management role within the Supply Chain department
Strong knowledge of supply chain management, vendor negotiations, logistics, and industry regulations.
Experience in developing KPIs, preparing reports, and data-driven decision-making.
Proficiency in SAP or ERP systems, procurement software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Skills :
Familiarity with GMP, FDA, EMA, and other regulatory requirements.
Experience with cost-saving initiatives and risk management strategies.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.
