LSUA I ET Services JOB DESCRIPTION – PC Support Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Information and Educational Technology Services
POSITION TITLE: PC Support Specialist
SUPERVISOR: CIO, IET Services
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, inventory, upgrading, and installation of all University PC's
and related peripherals - ensuring appropriate software is available and functional.
Configure LAN PC's with necessary protocols and security settings. Maintain and upgrade the University's PC Inventory database. Assist with Network related Services (DHCP, DNS, Wireless, etc.) Configure, troubleshoot, upgrade, and deploy computers to student labs, and faculty/staff offices Keep users informed about the status of their service calls and projects. Supervise student workers that are directly responsible for PC, peripheral, and LAN support. Take an active role in the customer satisfaction process. Additional duties as determined by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors' degree, BA in Computer Science, or related field and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an information technology related field, preferably PC support; or a minimum of seven (5) years’ experience in an information technology related field, preferably PC support and/or Helpdesk. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from university faculty/staff/administration, regulatory agencies, or members of the community. Proven ability to perform the following: PC support, peripheral support, LAN support. Experience with managing a network with over 400 PCs. Extensive knowledge of the following technologies: PC compatible hardware, Microsoft Windows operating systems, related software, O365 applications.
