About the role In this position, you will lead the employee lifecycle at Sylndr, overseeing end-to-end processes from onboarding to offboarding. As the People Operations Lead, you will be responsible for payroll management, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. You will also mentor team members, drive process improvements, and collaborate with senior management on strategic operational matters to enhance the employee experience.
What You’ll Do
Payroll Management: Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This includes managing payroll system operations, handling manual payroll processing when required, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
Oversee and Streamline Personnel Records and Database Management: Ensure personnel files and the employee database are accurately maintained in electronic and paper forms. Lead the team in managing credential completion for new hires and monitor compliance with internal filing standards.
Ensure Compliance and Manage Government Relations: Handle government-related HR compliance activities, including managing forms (1, 2, and 6) for the labor office and social insurance. Liaise with government authorities as needed.
Manage Employee Benefits Programs: Oversee benefits administration, including medical insurance (chronic cases, approvals, complaints, refunds, and emergency funds), transportation, and vendor relations. Regularly review and update these benefits to ensure relevance and value to employees.
Oversee Contracts and Documentation: Ensure the timely issuance, renewal, and documentation of employment contracts. Guide the team on best practices for maintaining up-to-date records on HR systems.
Respond to Employee Requests and Enhance Employee Experience: Lead the team in efficiently handling daily employee requests, including issuing HR letters and coordinating other HR-related needs.
Support and Develop Operational Improvements: Analyze current processes and identify opportunities for increased efficiency. Prepare HR operations reports and KPIs to support decision-making and process enhancement.
Lead the Offboarding Process and Documentation: Manage exit processes for terminated employees (resignations, end of contracts, etc.), ensuring all documentation is completed and the employee database is accurately updated.
Probation Period Tracking: Oversee probation tracking and collaborate with managers to make timely decisions regarding extensions or terminations.
Who You Are
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree required; HR diploma or certification is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in HR operations or personnel management, focusing on payroll processing, compliance, and managing the full employee lifecycle.
Strong command of English, both written and verbal.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
Proven time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
Leadership and Initiative: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor team members proactively to identify improvements and optimize processes in HR operations.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in payroll systems and experience with manual payroll processing.
Experience with HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) for data management and reporting.
Strong command of Microsoft Excel for reporting and data analysis.
