Job Title: MENA HSSE Business Partner


Department: HSSE 


Reporting TO: Head of HSSE Department


Location: MENA Egypt Office (Responsible for the MENA Region)


PURPOSE OF POSITION


This role is critical in advancing HSSE initiatives within a fast-paced and demanding environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of both employees and clients, while contributing to the company’s operational success. The MENA HSSE Business Partner will lead the development, implementation, and management of Health, Safety, Security, Environmental, and Quality (HSSEQ) policies, procedures, and strategies across the MENA region. Key responsibilities include ensuring full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, promoting continuous improvement toward achieving zero incidents, and cultivating a culture of safety and operational excellence. Additionally, the MENA HSSE Business Partner will focus on developing the skills of direct reports and work closely with technical services and management teams to provide top-tier support to Petroleum, Commercial, Mining customers and Channel Partners.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


HSSE Compliance:


  • Ensure the development, implementation, communication, and enforcement of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies, procedures, and legal requirements for all technical and support services provided to Petroleum-, Commercial-, Mining customers and Channel Partners
  • Ensure the effective implementation, ongoing monitoring, and continuous improvement of the Health, Safety, Security and Environmental strategy (e.g. Stop Work Authority) to comply with legislative and Petroleum-, Commercial-, Mining customers and Channel Partners
  • Ensure the preparation and timely reporting of weekly, monthly, and quarterly Health, Safety, Security and Environmental reports to management and customers. Oversee the accurate capture and recording of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental data in the designated electronic systems
  • Manage the HSSE required meetings, e.g.,HSSE Committee Meetings, Gemba Meetings, Client Meetings, etc.

Continual Improvement:


  • Ensure the analysis of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental data to identify trends. Drive the development and implementation of projects, programs, and systems designed to mitigate or eliminate incidents and enhance operational excellence
  • Implement Safety, Health, Environmental and Security Initiatives

Inspection and Compliance Audits:


  • Schedule and conduct regular safety inspections, including site walks, documentation checks, and employee safety behavior observations, to ensure adherence to safety policies
  • Oversee inspections of critical equipment (e.g., pressure vessels, valves, pipelines) and infrastructure to identify potential issues, schedule preventative maintenance, and avoid equipment failure
  • Prepare for and lead internal safety audits and participate in external audits by regulatory bodies. Ensure all audit findings are addressed promptly and documented

Manage the development, implementation, and communication of various Health, Safety, Security and Environmental plans, programs, systems, and processes, including:

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE


Education / Achievement


  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health
  • ISO 45001 Auditor
  • ISO14001 Auditor

Experience / Knowledges


  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in an HSSE leadership role, within the petroleum and mining sectors
  • Strong knowledge of regional HSSE legislation, international standards and risk management practices
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
  • Proven ability to manage incident investigations and drive change management processes

Specific Skills


  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to risk mitigation
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in English; Arabic or French
  • Computer Literate
