A Medical Rep. serves as the link between pharmaceutical companies and healthcare professionals such as doctors and pharmacists.
Job Description for a Medical Representative:
1. Promoting Products to doctors and pharmacists, providing detailed information about the company’s products (medications, medical devices, nutritional supplements, etc.).
Explain medical benefits, dosages, and possible side effects.
2. Building Relationships, Develop and maintain professional relationships with doctors, pharmacists, and sometimes hospitals or medical centers.
Ensure continuous communication to encourage the consistent use of the company’s products.
3. Achieving Sales Targets Work towards meeting the company's monthly or quarterly sales goals.
Visit targeted markets to ensure the availability of products in pharmacies.
4. Collecting and Analyzing Data monitor competitors and study their products and market strategies.
Provide regular reports to management about market needs and customer feedback.
5. Organizing Events and Conferences participate in or organize scientific conferences and workshops to promote products and increase brand awareness.
