Job Description
Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as onsite. this means the successful candidate to report to the GM office full time.
The Role:
GMIT Manufacturing Operation Specialist has on-site responsibility for planning, directing, and coordinating activities pertaining to information technology and business unit objectives in a GM Manufacturing Facility. More specifically, this role will perform tasks requiring on-site support for basic & intermediate level requests for applications, client, network & infrastructure support per the responsibilities listed below. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
What You'll Do:
Coordinating and performing work under general direction from their IT manager, in-line with GMIT policies and procedures
Contact application lead, business owner, and lead business stakeholders by shift as needed
Lead support for one or more local unique applications, only if the site has local unique applications Initiate
incident process and follow-up
Configure PC/printer mappings
Provide initial troubleshooting of Internet connectivity issues
Perform asset audits
Build clients (GMOL/plant floor/wireless) per automated build script
Support GM managed LAN and WAN network infrastructure hardware, Wireless Network and end device configuration & replacement
Support the GM managed Supplier network
Support VOIP and analog/mobile phone devices
Configure a plant floor scanner, printer
Audit Telecommunications Closets
Swap switches with little guidance as needed
Produce Cornerstone documentation and follow-up on compliance
Power up/down infrastructure equipment
Additional Job Description
Your Skills & Abilities:
Knowlege and Experience:
Less than 3 years of IT work experience preferred. Newly/fresh graduates with equivalent training record hands-on/knowledge will be considered.
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in Computer science / Engineering or equivalent IT technical discipline in a technical college.
Qualifications:
MCSA, CCNA, ITIL certificate preferred. Microsoft Servers, VMWare certificate additional.
In-depth technical knowledge or experience of networking systems including WAN, LAN, firewalls, wireless, cable management and network services.
Good technical knowledge or experience in server and infrastructure system including deploying, executing, testing, validating, OS updates and patches.
Demonstrate the end user service support - responding to requests and ongoing day-to-day support at the site level.
Demonstrate manufacturing plant and site operation support – performing process control, error proofing, quality, production monitoring, and asset management.
Cross-cultural resourcefulness ability engaging with multicultural and cross functional teams.
