UI/UX Designer Intern: Shape the Future of African E-Commerce
As a UI/UX Designer Intern at Jumia, you'll have the unique chance to impact the lives of millions of users across Africa. You'll work on cutting-edge projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, beautiful, and user-centric designs for our web and mobile platforms.
What you will be doing
Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other designers to create user-friendly interfaces for Jumia's eCommerce platforms Contribute to the design process from concept to execution, including wireframing, prototyping, and visual design Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions Help create and maintain Jumia's design system, ensuring consistency across our digital products Learn and apply best practices in responsive design, ensuring a seamless experience across devices
What we are looking for
Fresh graduates or completing a degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design or a related field A strong portfolio showcasing your UI/UX projects (academic or personal) Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for typography, color, and layout Strong communication skills and ability to articulate design decisions Passion for eCommerce and creating user-centric experiences Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment English proficiency (this is our primary language across the Group)
“Bonus” Skills:
Experience with motion design or micro-interactions Familiarity with agile development processes
