Responsibilities:
Technical & Management Skills.
- Lead and manage the SID team in the design of installation hardware, including block wiring, racks, and installation elements.
- Oversee the preparation and review of installation drawings and technical documents required for project execution.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, railway industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Work closely with offshore engineering, procurement, and installation teams to align design activities with the overall project schedule.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless integration of the installation design.
- Monitor and validate design changes, technical queries, and risk mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the SID team to ensure efficiency and quality in design deliverables.
- Plans all assigned HW design tasks in an independent way, providing completion estimates and identifying potential design risks.
- Keeps track of progress on all assigned technical tasks and regularly provides concise up to date status.
- Elaborates and presents effective solutions to problems.
- Review the relevant HW metrics to understand the level of performances of the HW design activity and participates to the HW Engineering Improvement plan
- Demonstrates a high degree of initiative, resourcefulness and breadth of knowledge beyond the primary discipline in solving problems.
- Demonstrates a superior level of logical reasoning resulting in effective designs for products and processes, understanding not only the product itself but also the main functions at system level
- Interprets, identifies, and documents the HW requirements such that customer needs are met within the budget and schedule constraints.
- Ensures both the safety and quality of hardware products while reducing the deployment cost of those products. Contributes to the heightened reuse of product hardware and contributes to improvements in hardware quality.
- Understands and reviews the HW architectures.
- Makes timely decisions, both independently and in concert with others, after a thorough evaluation of all relevant factors.
- COMMUNICATION
Communication Skills:
- Well-developed verbal skills to interact effectively and professionally in a variety of forums,
- Coordinate communication and collaboration between various stakeholders such as engineers, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
- Well-developed writing skills to prepare effective reports, documents, etc. in a clear and concise format.
- Facilitate meetings and workshops to identify interface issues, resolve conflicts, and track progress.
- Provide regular updates to project management and stakeholders on interface-related activities and issues.
Soft Skills
- Fostering a collaborative and cooperative environment among all team members, promoting effective teamwork and problem-solving.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple interfaces concurrently.
- Maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the job and in relations with others.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in railway installation design, preferably in metro or railway infrastructure projects.
- Strong expertise in installation hardware, wiring design, racks, and system integration.
- Experience with CAD tools and design software for installation drawings.
- Proven leadership experience in managing technical teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with railway safety standards, local codes, and international regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
- Proven experience in interface management for large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in the transportation, construction, or rail industry.
- Experience working with consortium partners and collaborate with multiple vendors across various subject areas (e.g., electrification, track, civil, etc.) tapping into your excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good interpersonal, communication and technical writing skills.
