Description
TASKS:
Represent companies in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers. Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies. Interview and hire staff and oversee staff training. Locate vendors of materials, equipment, or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales. Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment. Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions. Maintain records of goods ordered and received. Prepare bid awards requiring board approval. Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability. Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials. Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers. Control purchasing department budgets. Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids. Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy. Prepare reports regarding market conditions and merchandise costs. Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: General Education
University / Post Graduate (Masters Degree)
EXPERIENCE:
General Experience Wide and deep experience providing expert competence (Over 10 years to 15 years)
Managerial Experience
Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short / medium timescales within the overall policy framework. (Over 6 years to 10 years)
