Head of Finance

Mylo, a fintech startup operating in the consumer finance space, seeks a dynamic, results-oriented Head of Finance to lead our financial strategy and operations. The ideal candidate is a seasoned financial executive with a proven track record in the fintech and consumer finance industries. This role is instrumental in driving financial performance, managing risk, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute financial strategy aligned with business objectives, focusing on long-term growth and profitability.
• Financial Operations: Oversee financial operations, including accounting, FP&A, treasury, and risk management.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts to provide insights for decision-making, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk to optimize capital allocation and support business expansion.
• Compliance & Controls: Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to ensure accuracy, mitigate risks, and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial guidance and support to all departments to align with organizational goals.
• Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement growth strategies, offering financial insights to support business decisions.
• Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies, to maintain transparency and trust.

Requirements

• Proven track record in a senior finance role within the fintech or consumer finance industry.
• Strong financial acumen and analytical skills with experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and regulatory requirements.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, with a focus on driving results and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility and resilience under pressure.
• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
• Certifications: CPA, CFA, or similar financial certifications are strongly preferred.
• Industry Experience: Experience with consumer lending products, risk management, and a deep understanding of data analytics and financial modeling tools.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating integrity and transparency in all interactions.
