Role Objectives: As a Head of Environmental Health & Safety you will be responsible for managing EHS processes that include Health and Safety, Environment, Business Continuity, Asset Conservation, and Pandemic Planning. The purpose of this role is to establish and maintain a robust EHS management system, ensure compliance with regulations and standards, and foster a culture of safety throughout the organization In addition, this position is involved with the identification and communication of operational risks, within Breadfast Facilities & Factories, and the development of business strategies to mitigate those risks.
Roles & responsibilities:
● Ensure that policies have specific implementation strategies and ORM plans are in place for 4 areas of risk, Health & Safety, Environment, Business Continuity, and Asset Conservation operation site.
● Record risk assessments and major hazards happening at all Breadfast sites and support in all related activities.
● Development of inspection & audit programs of all assets, ensuring that all safety-related programs, procedures, and systems are conducted in all departmental and contracted assets.
● Ensure that proper safety induction briefings are conducted for all new employees and visitors
● Advise the Operations team on the environment, and issues and conduct needed trainings.
● Review accident, incident / non-conformance reports to resolve risk exposure and report them to the Operations manager, also recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures.
● Develop and implement health and safety plans in the workplace per legal guidelines
● Provide coaching, guidance, and performance evaluations to team members.
● Develop a team of HSE professionals to meet workload demands
● Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and Company EHS standards, Prepare and implement policies to establish a culture of health and safety
● Drive the delivery of the EHS Plan
● Ensure an effective program for auditing and monitoring all activities is in place and make sure to conduct visits to sites regularly
● Provide EHS reports and analysis for the site, also maintain risk management process
● Prepare EHS budget annually and handle all budget requirements
● Leading Facility security including individual and asset protection
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement security measures, including alarms, and emergency response plans.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:
● 15 years of professional experience in health and safety management, ideally in industrial, manufacturing, or multi-site operations or in a related field.
● Holds Certifications in Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, Operations risk management, OSHA industrial and construction, OHSA'S 18001- SMS, ISO 14001 -EMS, firefighting, BBS, Emergency management or equivalent) are a must
● Deep knowledge of health and safety standards and testing methodologies.
● Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
● Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
● Strong analytical skills to track and report on safety metrics and incident trends.
● Outstanding time management abilities.
● Proactive, with a hands-on approach to safety management and a focus on continuous improvement.
● Ability to work under pressure, especially in emergencies.
● High degree of flexibility and adaptability.
● Ability to travel between sites, if applicable.
● A solid understanding of labor laws and compliance with workplace safety regulations would be preferred.
