The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Maintenance Supervisor oversees and actively participates in all aspects of servicing, repair, and maintenance of various heavy duties Ground Support Equipment (GSE), Manage spare parts inventory, tools, and stores, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely procurement of necessary items as well as supervising skilled and semi-skilled workers engaged in the repair of the equipment.
• Plan, lead, organize, and control GSE maintenance activities to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide leadership in managing the GSE maintenance unit, including planning and directing overall maintenance operations.
• Direct and control the planning, forecasting, scheduling, monitoring, and execution of maintenance activities to optimize the utilization of company resources.
• Implement maintenance programs to ensure timely and efficient maintenance activities, including budget planning and management.
• Ensure adequate availability of equipment to support operations, focusing on safety, security, quality assurance, and serviceability of all equipment.
• Continuously assess and analyse the performance of all GSE, maintaining historical data to ensure operational reliability and effectiveness.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of GSE, parts, and related items, recommending replacements or new acquisitions as required.
• Ensure compliance with periodic audits and maintenance standards.
• Implement company operational policies, guidelines, procedures, and regulations, and contribute to developing new ones as needed.
• Meet performance targets set by the company for the GSE maintenance unit.
• Establish and maintain effective internal and external communication channels to foster collaboration and support across the organization.
• Supervise and actively participate in servicing, repair, and maintenance of heavy-duty automotive ground support equipment.
• Oversee skilled and semi-skilled workers engaged in the repair of heavy motorized equipment, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Determine the need for replacement parts, approve their issuance, and maintain records of repairs and time spent by subordinates on each task.
• Implement and monitor a preventive maintenance program based on manufacturer specifications to ensure cost-effective equipment maintenance
• Maintain a preventive maintenance schedule, including lubrication, tire replacement, and tune-ups, ensuring equipment serviceability and proper identification of operational status.
• Monitor the company safety targets and Safety Performance Indicators and take necessary actions in case of any significant trend. Develop and implement mitigation strategies for potential safety and security risks in line with the company SMS Manual.
• Diploma or Technical secondary education in mechanical or automobile, or specialized training technical field or A minimum of 3 years of experience in ground support equipment maintenance in an airport or airline ground operations environment.
• Certification in Ground Support Equipment maintenance or equivalent technical training (preferred).
• Hands-on experience with preventive and corrective maintenance of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Knowledge of GSE systems, heavy-duty equipment mechanics, and maintenance protocols.
• Ability to manage operations under pressure and within tight deadlines.
• Computer skills for updating maintenance records, inventory management and Proficiency in report writing and presentation creation.
• Proficiency in using maintenance inventory management, management systems and tools.
• Experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems of GSE.
