Introduction to role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data and Automation Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will leverage Microsoft Power Platform for creating innovative solutions and Power BI for data analytics. This role demands a deep understanding of both platforms, along with a passion for driving data-driven decision-making and automation.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and Implement Solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agents).
- Utilize Power BI to create comprehensive, insightful, and actionable data analytics reports.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Continuously monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing Power Platform and Power BI applications.
- Adhere to AstraZeneca’s data privacy and security standards.
- Build interpersonal inclusion through self-awareness, developing curiosity, active listening, and strengthening team and peer inclusion.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps (Canvas and Model Driven), Power Automate)
- Extensive experience in Power BI for data analytics and reporting
- Strong understanding of data structures, data modeling, and data visualization techniques
- Familiarity with SharePoint Online and other Microsoft technologies
- Knowledge of SQL, DAX, and other data manipulation languages.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
- Experience with Finance Department or in executing Financial Projects
- Cross Function Collaboration
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

I spend most of my time looking at statistical methods for clinical trials, including many innovations, and discuss that with a lot of the other statisticians, clinicians, and other team members across AstraZeneca, and really enjoy applying new methods and to make faster clinical trials.
