The Job The Data Acquisition Team at Smart Eye is responsible for the production of training and validation data for all project teams at Smart Eye. This includes research areas the company is exploring, customer program validation, and continued support for core signals. Data is at the heart of all Smart Eye projects and this role is an amazing chance to be involved with our technologies in a hands-on way. Main Responsibilities As a Data Acquisition Engineer, you will be responsible for the setup, calibration and on-going maintenance of recording environments for the local data acquisition team. This can include hardware configuration (Camera construction and mounting, PC building), software configurations (NTP, windows and linux packages), some light electrical engineering tasks (hardware repair, soldering and more) and quality assurance of data being produced (python scripting, manual inspection and other methods). You will be the main point of contact for local data collection projects and be responsible for their delivery. You will lead the local team in daily tasks. This includes leading recordings along with other team members, working with data platform team on data processing, assisting with recording recruitment and other tasks. Must have
A technical educational background, BS in Computer Science or equivalent
Experience using windows and linux operating systems
Excellent communication skills (english)
A willingness to learn new skills and approaches in a fast moving, changing environment
Experience leading individuals or small teams
Nice to have
Electrical engineering and IT skills
Experience working with Git for version control to manage and track changes in the codebase efficiently
Experience leveraging tools such as Jenkins to automate workflows
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS is a plus, enabling the development and deployment of scalable and reliable applications.
Experience designing and building PCs or other hardware projects
Research study experience – both logistical and technical
CAD experience
