Responsibilities:
Lead and manage enterprise-wide cybersecurity projects from inception through completion
Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, timelines, and resource allocation
Coordinate with executive stakeholders to align security projects with business objectives
Manage multiple concurrent security initiatives while ensuring quality and timely delivery
Create and maintain project documentation, including charter, requirements, and status reports
Lead risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for security projects
Monitor and control project budgets, often exceeding $1M+
Coordinate cross-functional teams including security, IT, compliance, and business units
Oversee vendor management and third-party security integrations
Develop and track project KPIs and metrics
Lead change management initiatives related to security implementations
Conduct regular project status meetings and steering committee presentations
Manage project dependencies and critical path activities
Oversee the implementation of complex security technologies and solutions
Ensure projects meet compliance requirements and security standards
Develop and maintain project governance frameworks
Lead procurement processes for security tools and services
Provide mentorship to junior project managers and team members
Create executive-level presentations and reports on project status
Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project impacts
Lead post-implementation reviews and lessons learned sessions
Qualifications:
18+ years of experience in IT Security roles
Proven track record of managing large-scale security projects
Expert knowledge of project management methodologies (PMP, Agile, Waterfall)
Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and controls
Strong experience with enterprise security technologies and solutions
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, and Master's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field is preferred
PMP certification required, and Advanced security certifications (CISSP, CISM, or equivalent)
Demonstrated experience managing projects with budgets exceeding $1M
Expert knowledge of risk management and compliance requirements, Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and security architecture, and Experience with project management tools and methodologies
Excellence in stakeholder management and executive communication
Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams
Strong financial management and budgeting skills, and Experience with procurement and vendor management
Knowledge of regulatory requirements (SOX, HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR)
Excellent presentation and documentation skills
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
Experience with change management methodologies
Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
Must be able to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities
Ability to travel as needed (up to 25%)
