Job Purpose:


As a member of the MENA Communications team reporting directly to the Senior Director, Communications – MENA and matrix to the VP of Egypt and Sudan, he/she will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of both internal and external communication initiatives and managing media relations primarily for this market but also supporting for regional initiatives as and when necessary. Her/his duties include being the lead storyteller for all internal and external communications for Egypt and the Sudan (as and when necessary). She/he will be writing bilingual copy for company newsletters, announcements and press releases adhering to the company’s brand.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Leading all the communication efforts for Egypt and the Sudan (as necessary) in alignment with regional lead
  • Collaborate with other members of the MENA Communications team to amplify the public voice of the brand.
  • Ability to effectively manage and maintain relationships with agencies and vendors in Egypt to help facilitate the timely and on-budget completion of projects that promote business initiatives and enhance our brand
  • Support the commercial teams in Egypt with content and branding design needs for digital communications initiatives that drive business outcomes
  • Serve as crisis communication team lead for in-market specific crises in Egypt and the Sudan (as necessary)
  • Draft press releases and speeches to amplify Egypt’s CSR activities, conferences/events and key business news
  • Write letters, interdepartmental memos and other business communications to support the VP
  • Be the media contact for Egypt and communicate with journalists and create press kits when necessary
  • Develop materials in alignment with regional team aligned with communications best practice
  • Perform market research to monitor activities of various companies in Egypt

Qualification:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or any relevant fields.
  • From 3:4 years of experience in communication function.
  • Preferred: Experience in a pharmaceutical industry, Healthcare communication experience (corporate or agency experience a plus)
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading in both Arabic and English, including ability to present concepts verbally to a bilingual audience.
  • Must be a confident communicator and discreet with a strong understanding of confidentiality
  • Digitally savvy with a strong ability to navigate social media platforms is a must
  • Politically and culturally sensitive
  • Flexible and responsive in a fast-paced working environment
  • Proactive and pragmatic; takes initiative with little or no supervision of his/her work
