We’re a mid-sized facility, located in beautiful northern Michigan.
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Civil Engineer who can leave marks all over the world. Because Aster Brands is all about changing the face of infrastructure, we are always taking the next step and improving what’s available with precast modular block retaining walls, artisan landscape blocks, slabs, pavers, and light pole foundations. This Civil Engineer role will have a focus on the technical design resources associated with Aster Brands products.

Duties and Responsibilities
Completing new design resources associated with existing Aster Brands Products (Redi-Rock, Rosetta, and Pole Base) and future products and brands. Design resources include construction drawings, design and installation manuals, preliminary calculations, product testing analysis and reporting, wall design templates, specifications, 3D modeling, project case studies, and technical documents. Auditing and maintaining existing design resources based upon industry updates. Using, training, and troubleshooting Aster Brands proprietary software. Evaluation of new software to assist in Aster Brand product design. Collaborating and supporting other Aster Brands Teams, specifically Marketing, Sales, Innovation, and Mechanical Engineering. Light travel to industry conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings that may include presentations.
Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Associates in Engineering Technology degree from ABET accredited program is preferred. Focus in Geotechnical, Structural, or Site/Civil also preferred. 1-2 years of relevant work experience in Civil Engineering design environment. Strong AutoCAD drafting experience. 3D drafting experience preferred. Strong communication and problem-solving skills with special attention to detail. Personal project management. Ability to multitask, communicate project progress, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of retaining wall analysis and design. EI/EIT certification or ability to achieve, with future intent to become PE certified is not required, but preferred.
