Job Summary
The Chief of Supply Chain is a strategic leadership role focused on demand planning, warehousing, inventory planning, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), logistics, and distribution. This position is critical to ensuring the seamless flow of products to meet customer demand .The role is designed to optimize supply chain processes, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction while supporting the company’s strategic vision of transforming into a modern health and well-being retail chain.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Planning and S&OP
- Develop and manage an accurate demand planning process to align inventory levels with sales forecasts and business objectives. - Lead the S&OP process, ensuring cross-functional collaboration between commercial, finance, and operations teams for accurate demand and supply alignment. - Monitor market trends, sales data, and product performance to adjust demand forecasts proactively.
Warehousing and Inventory Planning
- Oversee warehousing operations to ensure efficient storage, accurate stock management, and cost-effective use of resources. - Develop and implement inventory planning strategies to minimize stockouts, reduce overstocking, and optimize inventory turnover. - Implement advanced inventory management systems and practices to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Logistics and Distribution
- Manage logistics operations, including inbound and outbound transportation, to ensure timely delivery of products to all pharmacy branches. - Optimize distribution networks, routes, and transportation modes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. - Monitor and enhance performance metrics for distribution, such as order fulfillment rates and delivery times.
Operational Excellence
- Establish robust processes and KPIs to drive excellence across demand planning, warehousing, inventory, and logistics operations. - Integrate data analytics and technology solutions to streamline operations and enhance decision-making. - Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards related to pharmaceutical storage and distribution.
Leadership and Team Development
- Build and lead a high-performing supply chain team focused on collaboration, innovation, and accountability. - Provide coaching, training, and mentorship to develop team capabilities and ensure operational excellence. - Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the supply chain department.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with a strong focus on demand planning, inventory management, logistics, and distribution, preferably in the pharmaceutical or FMCG sector. - Proven experience leading warehousing and logistics operations for a large retail or multi-location organization. - Expertise in S&OP processes and supply chain analytics tools.
