Child Safeguarding:
Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting the country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The role is expected to ensure quality and timely implementation and monitoring of the cash & voucher assistance for Protection (CVA for P) as part of the Sudan response in Egypt, through capacity-building and mentoring of Partner NGOs leading CVA implementation. The role holder is responsible for the appropriate implementation of CVA operations in line with sectorial minimum standards, internal policies and program guidelines as well as donor requirements.
Projects Scope:
The project targets refugees and migrants in Aswan, including recently arrived refugees from Sudan, to meet their urgent and basic needs, through immediate humanitarian assistance and increased capacity of NGOs and service providers to deliver health and nutrition, protection, psycho-social support, and education services. The project will provide multi-sectoral services including cash and voucher assistance for children and adults at-risk in Aswan, including unaccompanied and separated children. The program is multi-faceted and will require coordination with multiple organizations and actors operating in Aswan as well as strengthening the capacities of the PNGO’s in delivering and monitoring cash and voucher assistance.

FIELD TRAVEL: The project officer is expected to spend at least 70% of his/ her time at the field sites

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Educational Background:
Bachelor degree in social sciences, development studies or any relevant area
Essential:
• Minimum 2-3 years of previous relevant experience in child protection cash programming for refugees or migrants in particular;
• Professional experience in partner collaboration and capacity-building
• Excellent drafting, interpersonal, interviewing, and communication skills;
• Leadership experience at a similar job;
• Proficiency in Arabic written and spoken is a must and English language is preferable;
• Demonstrated ability to work with highly vulnerable groups;
• Awareness of the security context and political situation in Egypt for refugees;
• Able to work effectively within a team and/or individually;
• This is a field job; the candidate must be willing to work in the field effectively
• Well organized with strong time-management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and to handle heavy and competitive works effectively • Shares Save the Children’s vision and values
Desirable:
• Previous experience working with NGOs.
