Role Purpose:
The Role mainly to design, deliver and support data related solutions which include end to end business intelligence solutions among others. This role will help utilize the data generated by the different business processes to unlock valuable business insights and simplify its accessibility for business stakeholders to assist them in decision making and performance optimization activities.
The Role required deep upstanding for all aspects of Vodafone Business Technology Solutions delivery methodology and frameworks , from Product Design, to presales activities , then post sales and delivery activities , until project is handed over to transition and operations
Key Accountabilities and Decision ownership
• Design, deliver agile end to end BI Solutions, activities could include:
o Requirement gathering and analysis.
o Backlog management, priorities negotiations and sprint planning.
o Solution design and deliverables scope and estimation.
o Data extraction, cleansing and transformation.
o Data modelling.
o Data Visualization.
o Testing and validation.
o UAT Sessions.
o Technical Writing and Documentation.
• Support and maintain delivered solutions, activities include:
o Automate repeatable admin activities.
o Maintain and monitor data refresh schedules.
o Handle support tickets and bug fixes.
• Apply lessons learnt to continuously tweak and optimize BI solution delivery process and solution maintenance activities.
• Ability to share best practices and code standards to the team.
• Participate in the problem identification/error resolution process, including tracking, repairing and reporting defects.
• Create and maintains technical design documentation to support development.
• Contribute to Test automation Activities
• Ensuring that development follows the security related recommendations and are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
• Drive Code Reviews with other developers
Core Competencies, Knowledge and Experience
• 10 years of Experience in Business and Data Insights
• End to end BI solution development experience using interactive BI and MS Power Platform Tools like Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate.
• Experience in designing and delivering enterprise BI solutions on an enterprise data platform ( e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, SAP, Teradata, Hadoop, AWS, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• BI experience in multiple business domains (e.g. Project Management, Financial, HR)
• Experience in ETL implementation, extracting data from a variety of sources (e.g. flat files, relational databases, no-SQL databases, Big Data platforms)
• Experience applying dimensional modelling concepts to develop Data Marts and Data Warehouses.
• Experience and competency of at least some of the following languages or their equivalents: Python (Pandas), SQL, DAX, M Language
• Experience building interactive data models using analytical engines like SSAS or modern BI tools like Power BI, Tableau and Qlik.
• Ability to utilize source control tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Git)
• Experience leading a team of developers to deliver an end-to-end BI solution.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and local language as necessary.
• Basic knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts.
• Good communication skills, with proven ability to work cross-functional teams to translate business issues into potential analytics solutions ((listening, questioning, challenging etc.)
• Analytical thinker, familiar with complex technologies, programming languages
• Remain up-to-date in terms of current (and future) technologic trends
• Experience of working on projects that span multi-disciplinary areas of differing size and complexity to meet business expectations and deliver results
• Confident and able to liaise and influence at all levels within Vodafone and/or relevant customer organizations
Must-have Technical / professional qualifications
• Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science with minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role or a role related to it.
• Certifications in any of the following is a plus:
o Statistics
o Project Management and Agile methodology
o Data management
o BI tools (Power BI, Tableau,Qlik)
o Business Intelligence (Data Modelling, Warehousing, ETL\ELT)
o Data Science
o Regression and Prediction analysis certificate
• Hands on experience in different ETL tools.
• Hands on experience in different Visualization/Analytical tools (Splunk is a plus)
• Understands data governance and how it works in relation to other organisational governance structures
• Telecom experience is a plus
• Experience of managing projects for customer operations business using lean, six sigma, AGILE, PMP methodology
