Associate Specialist, Analytics and Business Insights (Rosetta)*
Overview
The Associate specialist will be in charge of analytic and operational support of the team leader and other team members in their work. Further the candidate will own the data research and analysis in the selected areas.
The candidate will be part of the team at the heart of Mastercard Europe’s data. Analytics and Business Insights team seeks to empower everyone in Europe to use data to drive outstanding results. Main stakeholders of the team are sales and business development functions as well as European Management.
The position will enable the candidate to develop deep understanding of Mastercard’s data, data analysis and visualization, business insight creation as well as how analytics and business insights are leveraged in different areas of Mastercard’s business. As part of the team you will have exposure to Mastercard’s global network of data and analytics teams and individuals.
Role
In this position, you will:
- Perform data research and analysis at both operational and strategic levels as well as insight generation
- Preparation of business insight snippets and presentations
- Conduct data testing and data reconciliation
- Data tools and capabilities research and study
- Educate various stakeholders on data tools and capabilities
- Support design, development and deployment of new data capabilities
- Support and own maintenance, update and enhancement of existing data capabilities (dashboards, ETL flows, sematic models, etc)
- Conduct data ETL (extract, transform, load) for various projects
- Conduct operational support of Analytics and Business Insights team (e.g. intranet communications, confluence and mailbox handling, access management, stakeholders communications management, etc)
- Prepare data capabilities documentation
- Prepare presentations and other communications
All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should have the below profile and key requirements:
- MA/MSc in math, physics, engineering, finance, economy, or computer science
- Fluency in math and passion for numbers (knowledge of business statistics is a plus)
- Agile and proactive thinker with curiosity to learn and eagerness to crack complex topics
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand, create and explain complex concepts
- Attention to details and diligence
- Responsible and reliable
- Ability to exercise ownership over assigned tasks (perception of the tasks in a broader context, ability to offer new approaches, respect of deadlines, ability to anticipate and address risks)
- Good at defining problems and opportunities and finding solutions
- Out of box thinking, ability and eagerness to look for non-trivial solutions
- Good communication skills in all situations
- Ability to work with both high level concepts and applied data points
- Ability to work independently and handling different projects at the same time, stress resistant
- Good team player
- Experience with any of the following tools is a plus: Power BI, Alteryx, SSIS, SQL, Python
- Software development experience is a plus (either professionally or as a hobby)
- Strong PC User (Excel (with modelling), PowerPoint, etc)
- Fluency in English
