Role Purpose: 


We are currently looking for an Assistant Cost Manager in one of our projects in Marsa Matrouh


What this job involves 


  • Excellent Take-Off skills required, from both an accuracy and speed perspective.  
  • Preparation of Budget / pre-contract cost estimates and various stages’ cost plans as required.
  • Preparation of Tender Evaluation Reports.
  • Preparation of Bills of Quantities.
  • Preparation of pre-tender cost estimates.
  • Reviewing and negotiating prices with Contractors.
  • Preparation of contract documents.
  • Reviewing monthly payment valuations.
  • Managing the project’s change control of all additional works as required.
  • Pricing and checking additional works / post-contract cost estimates as required and reviewing their validation / quantification process.
  • Reviewing costing’s in conjunction with budgets.
  • Preparation of Final Accounts.
  • Participating in the Cost reporting process of the project.
  • Attending site meetings as required.
  • Attending design team meetings as required.
  • Be a strong team player but demonstrate the ability to take a leadership role as part of personal development planning.
  • Represent the company in a professional and diligent manner.

Desired skills and experience for this 


  • 3+ years of working experience in Cost Management
  • Knowledge of change procedures and proposal requests
  • Assist for reviewing and evaluating variation orders
  • Knowledge of current market rates
  • Capability to work on multiple contracts within a single project
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word

Key Competencies 


  • Strong knowledge and track record in the application of IT based solutions.  
  • Software skills required in Auto CAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Software skills in Cost Estimation and Quantity Surveying software like CostX, Plan Swift or Bluebeam or Candy, would be advantageous. 
  • Degree in related subject (BSc Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil, Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical or equivalent).
  • Associate / Member RICS or in process would be advantageous.
  • Experience preferably in the Construction, Fit-out and/or Renovation projects.
  • Experience preferably in the Middle East but not essential.
