Job Summary:IBM API Connect Integration Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing API solutions using IBM API Connect platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate APIs seamlessly across various systems and applications, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. Your expertise in IBM API Connect will be instrumental in driving innovation, efficiency, and digital transformation initiatives within the organization.
Responsibilities:· Design and develop API solutions using IBM API Connect platform to enable seamless integration between applications, systems, and services.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into API specifications and implementation plans.
· Configure and customize API Connect components, including API gateways, developer portals, and analytics modules, to meet project objectives and requirements.
· Implement security measures, such as authentication, authorization, and encryption, to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of APIs and data.
· Optimize API performance and scalability by implementing best practices, caching strategies, and load balancing techniques.
· Conduct testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of APIs to identify and resolve issues promptly.
· Document API specifications, usage guidelines, and troubleshooting procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among team members.
· Provide technical guidance and support to development teams, architects, and stakeholders on API design principles, patterns, and best practices.
· Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to API management and integration.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
· From 3 – 4 years of experience using IBM API Connect and Data Power
· Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing APIs using IBM API Connect or similar API management platforms.
· Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles, protocols, and standards.
· Proficiency in programming languages such as Java.
· Experience with API security standards and protocols, such as OAuth, JWT, and SSL/TLS.
· Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as IBM Cloud,& AWS.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Relevant certifications in API management or related fields (e.g., IBM Certified Solution Advisor - API Connect) would be a plus.
· experience in designing, implementing, and supporting API solutions using IBM API Connect and DataPower Gateway.
· Proficiency in API management concepts, protocols, and standards (REST, SOAP, JSON, OAuth, OpenAPI).
· Hands-on experience with IBM API Connect components, including API Designer, Developer Portal, and Gateway.
· Strong understanding of IBM DataPower Gateway features and capabilities, such as message mediation, security policies, and multi-protocol gateway.
· Familiarity with cloud technologies and deployment models (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure) is a plus.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Certifications in IBM API Connect and DataPower Gateway are desirable
