The Medical Lead Consumer Healthcare's mission is to generate innovative medical insights that translate
into the promotion of our CHC product portfolio whilst ensuring their appropriate use, to improve the health and the well-being of our consumers by finding healthcare solutions and services utilizing the highest
ethical and compliance standards. We are driven to serve healthier, fuller lives for consumers by offering a
wide range of solutions across five main areas: Nutritional Health, Digestive Health, Cough & Cold,
Allergy, Pain Care.
Medical manager will interact closely with marketing, sales, research and development in creating brand
strategies and will as partially fulfil pharmacovigilance activities, serving as PV internal and external
contact person
Main responsibilities:
In order to fulfil this purpose, the main responsibilities of Medical manager covering also PV activities,
are:
- Develop of medical product strategies for selected group of products by monitoring the development of medical knowledge regarding products and provide medical contribution to the commercial success of the specific brand/therapeutic area groups
- Provide appropriate medical input to the business unit so that marketing, promotion, pharmacovigilance, product information and regulatory affairs is conducted to optimal commercial effect, consistent with current legal and ethical standards and Corporate policy.
- Provide Medical Input to specific area(s) of Business Strategy & Innovation
- Apply and translate medical and scientific expertise to the CHC strategic integrated brand plans.
- Ensure that all local requests are captured in the specific databases in order to be tracked
- Contribute clinical expertise as key member of medical team by answering medical questions or customer responses; performing literature searches
- Be aware of social and policy trends affecting medical practice in self-medication and pharmacovigilance regulations.
- Actively communicate medical information
- Network and cooperate with others to identify and share best practices
- Reviews and approves promotional and scientific material while ensuring compliance of promotional activities to current medical/scientific knowledge, pharmacovigilance regulations and legal requirements.
- Be able to anticipate and maximize medical value in clinical trials, registries and other initiatives including Rx-to-OTC switches
- Develop material and give the scientific training to medical representatives and any other CHC members to develop their understanding of the CHC products and relevant disease areas in order that they can sell effectively and with confidence.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Regulatory guidelines, pharmacovigilance and other relevant guidelines and/or standard operating procedures.
- Ensure that PV operating and safety management systems are effectively organized at country level to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies by monitoring compliance and KPIs.
- Adhere to the applicable standards and procedures and regulations
- Work in line with ethical and compliance standards and be the gatekeeper of them
- In charge of medical strategy for Gulf & levant markets for CHC products
- Provides strategic medical support to the Scientific Affairs team for CHC business
- Serves as the company’s key medical spokesperson and representative for government agencies, professional associations, and the healthcare community
- Develops and maintains a high level of technical expertise in relation to Sanofi CHC products
- Act as the primary contact for medical governance requirements within CHC
- Provides product related medical inputs into all local CHC products and activities
- Provides medical support to the marketing and sales teams in the recruitment and development of key opinion leaders, advocacy initiatives and medical affairs activities
- Provides medical inputs into claims generation and substantiation
- Will lead Science trainings for the commercial local teams for all CHC products
- Collaborates with Global & Regional Pharmacovigilance and Medical operations teams in overseeing PV and medical information
- Provides medical support to Quality Assurance, in ensuring patient safety
- Supports Regulatory Affairs in scientific requirements
About you
Expected educational background and job related experience
- Education: Medical Doctor, Pharmacist, Pharm D, Veterinary Doctor, Health Sciences PhD, MPh or
- A keen understanding of drug development and commercialization, experience with Regulatory Agency interactions
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Preferred to have knowledge of Pharmacovigilance
- Experience in working across and building effective partnerships and communication between business, Medical, and Regulatory and Pharmacovigilance teams
