The UAE’s wise leadership has entrusted MBRSC with the Emirates Mars Mission to launch Hope Probe to the Red Planet in 2021, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the founding of the UAE.
MBRSC Establishment:
The centre was originally established in 2006 as the Emirates Institution for Advanced Science & Technology (EIAST), accumulating knowledge, recruiting Emirati scientists and engineers, and launching advanced scientific projects, until the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) was established in 2015 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.
The establishment decree saw EIAST integrated with the newly founded MBRSC, which would now take charge of the UAE’s advanced science and technology projects, and take responsibility for contributing towards the UAE’s move into a knowledge-based economy.
MBRSC Projects:
Having successfully launched both DubaiSat-1 and DubaiSat-2 in 2009 and 2013 respectively, MBRSC has embarked upon the next phase of its journey. We are now also working on KhalifaSat, scheduled for launch in 2018, when it will become the most advanced satellite the UAE has launched thus far.
The Emirates Mars Mission is also underway, and will see the launch of the historic Hope Probe in 2021, on the 50th anniversary of the union of the emirates. The probe will carry the hopes and dreams of the Arab world as it travels to Red Planet on a voyage of discovery. Through this project, the UAE will provide an enormous amount of scientific information and data, and will share this with research centres and universities from around the world, thus contributing to the support of scientific knowledge worldwide. ...عرض أقل
