Established in 1989, Gulf Film LLC is the leading distributor and exhibitor of films in the Gulf and Middle East. Headquartered in Dubai, Gulf Film LLC is the foremost authority in cinema entertainment for the Middle East and is credited with reviving the fortunes of the industry through its chain of Grand Cinemas in the UAE and Gulf region.

Gulf Film is responsible for the lion’s share of Arabic and English titles across the UAE and the Middle East, with movie sources ranging from American principals such as Universal, Paramount, Dreamworks and New Line Cinema to independent filmmakers.

In order to meet incredibly high market demand, Gulf Film, through its affiliate Al Nisr Cinemas, covers the total mass of Hindi and Bollywood titles brought to the UAE. Collectively, Gulf Film and Grand Cinemas distribute and exhibit over 200 titles per annum.

The Grand Cinemas brand has become a statement of quality entertainment throughout the region. The first Grand Cinema to open its doors was the Grand Galleria in Dubai in 1994. The flagship for Grand Cinemas is the Grand Cineplex, opened in 2002, which showcases a state of the art entertainment facility. Over the years, Grand Cinemas has strived to set the industry standard – and succeeded. The proof is in the steady proliferation of Grand Cinemas and the acquisition of other key theatres such as Al Massa in 2004 and Century Cinemas in 2005.

Today, the Grand Cinemas name stands boldly over 16 multiplexes, housing a spectacular tally of 130 screens. Currently active plans will increase the number of screens throughout the region to 160 by the year 2007.
