Day in the Life of a Digital Marketing Analyst and Entrepreneur: Anastasia Ivanovskaya

Anastasia Ivanovskaya, lives and works in Amman, Jordan. Anastasia has 9 years of experience in the marketing field. She started as a B2B telemarketer and CRM assistant and climbed her way up to become a marketing analyst and founder of an internet marketing agency called Katra Marketing. Through the years Anastasia has dealt with different challenges in different industries and countries.

Being the business owner requires Anastasia to do lots of things; checking her task management system, understanding the tasks of the marketers, prioritizing and correcting them if necessary. During the day, Anastasia usually goes to meetings with clients and at night she works on company projects.

Even though she decided to devote herself to digital marketing, Anastasia doesn’t claim herself to be a SEO guru, or a marketing expert, because this area of work is very changeable, and just to keep up on the surface, one must have a continuous practice and self-education. Anastasia wants to master both marketing analytics and content strategies She is constantly trying to improve the quality of her work.

Anastasia’s Agenda:

7:00 AM – 8:30 AM

I am usually up at seven and ready to drink my coffee and have an enjoyable walk. After my usual morning routine, I check the paper organizer and look through my e-mails. One of the most essential parts of my day also happens at this time; I sit and talk to my husband and quickly coordinate that day activities. At around 8:30 or 9 am, we are both leaving the house.

8:30 AM – 10:30 AM

This part is very rapid: I reach Katra Marketing office around 9 am. First thing I do in the office is check our task management system, to understand the tasks of the team, prioritize and correct them if necessary. I also check our CRM, to see my tasks and meetings during the day. I check all the current projects we are handling for our clients, the marketing objectives and all deadlines we have to meet. We also have a certain schedule for 30-min presentations, where a team member talks about a certain topic, related to digital marketing, or management. I’m trying to show the bigger picture behind the internet marketing services our company offers, so the marketers will be more confident about their work, and the public speaking in general.

10:30 AM – 2:00 PM

My marketing coordinator is trying to place all the meetings with the clients during this period. I usually have 3-4 meetings in different parts of Amman, having a short lunch break. When I’m staying in the office all day, I have a one hour lunch break which is dedicated to reading work-related books and making notes. The most recent book I’m reading is “Sales Training Tutorials” by Michael McGaulley.

2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

I go back to the office, make a meeting report and write a few proposals. I also talk to the team, to clarify all the issues regarding their tasks and the projects they handle. I am blessed with a team of great marketers who are professional and reliable, and it’s great to see how they enhance their skills every day. The two most satisfying elements of my life are people I work with, and the job I am very proud of.

4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

My Jawbone tracker has a buzzing reminder at 4:30 pm. For me, this is my working borderline. Even if the day is not over yet, I quickly check my planned daily goals and the tasks completed, to decide if the day was productive enough.

After that I’m staying in the office till 7 pm, working on our company websites, editing articles, or making plans.

7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Me and my husband both come back home almost at the same time, where we decide if we want to eat outside or cook dinner together. We share with each other the details of the day at work, and watch something quick on Netflix. During the weekend I can afford to watch the whole movie at once, but not after work, it seems a pure waste of time.

Also. I prefer to watch some lectures online. Currently I’m studying “Digital Analytics for Marketing Professionals: Marketing Analytics in Theory” course, and planning to finish my Digital Marketing Specialization in the end of August. I always feel I need to learn more, and getting excited that my marketing career requires constant updates of my theoretical background and practical experience in online marketing.

9:00 PM – 11:00 PM

My bed ritual is simple: I read until I sleep. Here I usually choose easy page turners to read; some popular classic novels or science fiction. I always prefer to stay at home rather than going out late. Some people will find this boring, but that’s how I recharge for the new day, and challenges my work brings.
