Ramadan 2025 Working Hours in Kuwait

Kuwait has announced adjusted working hours to accommodate the spiritual and physical needs of those observing the fast this Ramadan. Below is an overview of the official working hours for government employees during Ramadan 2025.

Government sector working hours

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has established that government employees will work four and a half hours per day during Ramadan. To provide flexibility, employees can choose from five designated time slots:

  • 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM
  • 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM
  • 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM
  • 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM
  • 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM

Employees are required to complete 4.5 hours of work from their chosen start time. Additionally, a grace period is granted:

  • Male employees: 15 minutes at the beginning of their shift.
  • Female employees: 15 minutes at both the beginning and end of their shift.

These adjustments aim to support employees in balancing their professional duties with religious observances.

Private sector working hours

While the CSC's announcement pertains to government entities, private sector companies in Kuwait often implement similar reductions in working hours during Ramadan. However, specific schedules may vary by organization. Employees are encouraged to consult their respective employers for precise working hours during the holy month.

Anticipated start of Ramadan 2025

Astronomical calculations suggest that Ramadan 2025 is expected to begin on Saturday, March 1, 2025. However, the official start date will be confirmed by Kuwaiti authorities based on moon sighting closer to the time.

Note: Employees are advised to await official communications from their employers or relevant authorities for confirmed working hours and any updates as the holy month approaches.
