In February 2010 a single source launched a systematic and sophisticated defamation campaign against the integrity and character of Bayt.com, the Middle East’s #1 jobsite, and its founder and CEO, Rabea Ataya. The source, assuming multiple fake personas on the internet, initiated a consistent thread of defamatory verbage and over the course of a few weeks very rapidly spread these materials on a plethora of diverse online sites based around the world.
As a jobsite built with a higher vision and mission, which prides itself on the superlative integrity of its people, and performance of its platform, we knew the accusations wouldn’t stick and would be immediately seen for the fabrications that they are. For those who don’t remember, the vision and mission we have always espoused vehemently, are to be ‘’an admired and respected online extension of people’s lives’’ by ‘’empowering our users to build their lifestyle of choice.’’
We live, dream and work to this standard and we seek to realize our vision by delivering opportunity for FREE to the region’s millions of Jobseekers.

Why would someone launch such a vicious campaign?

We have taken several measures to protect the integrity of all our stakeholders’ preferred jobsite including - Addressing the defamation head-on online on all locations where we have been able/permitted to issue our own statement - Contacting legal authorities across continents to identify the source of the defamation and take all necessary legal actions - Continuing to uphold the very high standards which we have always transparently espoused as a firm.

No. No truth at all. As any one of our stakeholders can tell you! And as you can very easily and instantly verify for yourself if you don’t know us by now or if you have even the slightest doubt. Any professional from anywhere in the Middle East, North Africa and beyond, can register on Bayt.com for FREE, at no cost whatsoever, and apply to any job they are interested in and qualified for, for FREE. Furthermore, we do not charge any jobseekers based on being successfully recruited. Our platform remains 100% FREE to all jobseekers and at no point are they required by us to make a payment to avail of the thousands of jobs advertised on bayt.com every day. As for the character of our CEO Rabea Ataya - well needless to tell you – his hard-earned and longstanding reputation speaks for itself.
Do we have any paid Jobseeker Services?
We are a profitable business with numerous products and services all designed to make it easier for the JobSeeker and Employer to find opportunity, and talent, respectively. Over 99% of our revenue comes from COMPANIES who come to bayt.com to advertise their jobs, search the jobseeker database and reach out DIRECTLY to jobseekers. However, at the request of our jobseekers, and in order to enable, empower and assist our community more, we do also provide jobseekers with a limited range of additional products and services which are STRICTLY OPTIONAL and include services to write a CV and cover letter for those professionals who prefer to outsource this responsibility, as well as services such as psychometric testing, CV highlighting etc. Again, these additional products/services are STRICTLY OPTIONAL and a very small segment of our jobseeker community actually avails of them. Our job search find and apply process, as mentioned previously, remains completely FREE for the jobseeker as it has been since our inception in 2000.
