Career Fair to Assist Cancer Survivors Announced

On October31st2013, cancer survivors are invited to attend a unique job fair from10:00AM to4:00PM at the Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach.

Brought to you by Pure Hearts4 Cancer program, this is the3rd edition of this unique job fair designed to guide cancer survivors to find their place in the workforce with an objective to lead a normal life once again. Leading companies, both local and multinational, across a number of sectors, will be exhibiting at the fair, looking for the right candidate from a pool of varied talent. These include Majid Al Futtaim, Aramex, Bayt.com, and Reuters, to name a few. Bayt.com, the Middle East’s #1 job site, will also be hosting a training session for job seekers where they will be armed with the tools and skills needed to handle job interviews.

“After successfully hosting two career fairs we realized that more often than not, cancer survivors have lost touch with the corporate world and corporate speak. This training session has been added to the agenda to make sure they get through the interview process with flying colors,” said Rania Amer, Founder of Pure Hearts.

Established in September2011, when a team of volunteers gathered to take a step forward in looking deeper into cancer patients’ lives, the Pure Hearts program was developed in collaboration with hospitals, and local/multinational companies, plus using extensive research relating to cancer survivors.

“Bayt.com is proud to support the Pure Heart program and sponsor the job fair yet again,” said Suhail Masri, VP of Sales, Bayt.com. “Our mission at Bayt.com is to empower people to lead their lifestyles of choice, and this job fair will empower a segment of society that needs a special focus in career empowerment: cancer patients. We hope that this program will help them find work and successfully re-enter the workforce!”

The first Pure Hearts Job Fair was held in February2012 and resulted in20% of the visitors being employed.

“This year we aim to streamline the event and focus more on boosting the number of companies exhibiting. At this stage we have more than70 cancer survivors who are on our database, all looking to get back to work. We’re hoping that at least half of these candidates get the fresh start they so richly deserve,” added Amer.
