Bayt.com Survey: Remote Work in the MENA 2021

The question of the hour nowadays is what the business world will look like after the pandemic has been fully addressed. Will remote working stay the same or will it go back as it was before the pandemic? Do professionals prefer working remotely or from an office? What about the challenges associated with remote working?

The latest survey conducted by Bayt.com entitled “Remote Work in the MENA 2021” answers these questions and more and explores emerging trends while the region transitions into a new normal.

Key Findings:

  • 92% of respondents say that they have all or some of the resources required to do their job remotely.
  • Two-thirds of MENA professionals expect remote working trend to increase or remain the same as now in the post-pandemic world.
  • 41% of respondents believe that frequent technical challenges is one of the most common challenges associated with remote work.
  • Respondents have highlighted benefits of remote work by such as saving travel time (53%) and working in a comfortable work area (52%).
  • More than half the respondents (53%) would prefer a mix between working from home and returning to office/ on-site.

Data for the Remote Work in the MENA Survey was collected online from 18th August - 14th September 2021. Results are based on a sample of 3,206 respondents from the following countries: UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan and others.
