Responsibilities:
· Oversee electrical systems in solar projects.
· Ensure adherence to electrical safety and industry standards.
· Manage electrical teams and coordinate with mechanical teams.
· Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues.
· Optimize energy efficiency and system reliability.
Job Responsibilities:
1. System Design and Integration:
- Design electrical systems for solar power generation, including photovoltaic (PV) arrays, inverters, transformers, and electrical distribution networks.
- Integrate solar power generation systems with existing electrical grids or standalone microgrid systems.
- Optimize system configurations for maximum energy output, considering factors like shading, orientation, and panel tilt.
2. Equipment Specification and Procurement:
- Specify electrical components and equipment, such as PV modules, inverters, switchgear, and monitoring systems.
- Coordinate procurement activities, including vendor selection, bid evaluation, and equipment testing and validation.
3. Installation and Commissioning:
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment at solar power plant sites.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations during installation and commissioning activities.
4. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
- Implement monitoring and control systems to track the performance of solar power generation assets.
- Analyze data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for system optimization and efficiency improvement.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement corrective actions to maximize system uptime and reliability.
5. Grid Interconnection and Compliance:
- Manage grid interconnection processes, including system studies, interconnection agreements, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with utility companies and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with grid connection requirements and technical standards.
6. Safety and Maintenance:
- Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures for electrical work at solar power plant sites.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and longevity of electrical systems.
- Respond to and resolve electrical faults, failures, and emergencies in a timely and efficient manner.
7. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation of electrical designs, specifications, as-built drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Generate reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and compliance documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in renewable energy systems are advantageous.
2. Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.
3. Experience in electrical system design, installation, and commissioning, preferably in the solar energy industry.
4. Proficiency in electrical design software, simulation tools, and modeling techniques.
5. Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations applicable to solar power generation.
6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
