We’re a team of dedicated people driving this mission by providing better, faster, and cheaper ways to access food through technology. Role overviewTo function as a Chef De Partie for the Calo Kitchen, to work alongside the head chef to manage daily kitchen activities, including overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation, ensuring food quality and freshness, monitoring ordering and stocking. The successful candidate will employ their culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers’ satisfaction.  Main ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management:Lead, mentor, and train a team of junior pastry chefs, bakers, and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and creative working environmentOversee the daily operations of the pastry section, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and according to scheduleEnsure that high standards of hygiene and food safety are maintained in compliance with local health regulations Quality Control & Consistency:Ensure the highest quality and consistency in all pastry products, maintaining exceptional attention to detail in both flavor and presentationRegularly review production methods to enhance efficiency without compromising quality.Conduct regular tasting sessions and adjust recipes as needed Inventory & Cost Management:Manage inventory levels for all pastry ingredients and supplies, ensuring availability while controlling wasteWork closely with the procurement team to source high-quality ingredients at the best pricesMonitor and control food costs, ensuring alignment with the restaurant’s financial objectives Operations & Planning:Coordinate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth delivery and timing of pastry itemsPlan and execute special orders and requests for events, private dining, and seasonal offeringsDevelop production schedules and delegate tasks to the pastry team, ensuring timely delivery of service Ideal CandidateQualifications Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, with at least 6-9 years of experience in a high-end or fine-dining establishmentStrong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing a pastry teamKnowledge and competencyIn-depth knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and flavor combinationsCreativity and innovation in dessert presentation and flavor profilesStrong understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene standardsExcellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environmentPersonalityStrong communicator Pleasant personality and ability to lead with empathyStrong organizational and planning abilitiesPassion for mentoring and developing talent within the team
