Near Patient Nurse - Bahrain - Residential
International SOS has a permanent residential position for a Near Patient Nurse to be based in Bahrain.
The role is for an experienced nurse to deliver medical support and advice for an International SOS Tricare project, which provides medical care for US veterans staying at the US base in Manama.
It is to be noted, that you would not treat patients, the general role is that of a co-ordinating nurse - offering phone support and to accompany a member to hospital in Bahrain if needed. You would move between the US military base in Manama, and between three different hospitals also located in Manama.
We would not support a medical license in Bahrain for this role as you would act in an advisory capacity only, therefore a medical license is not required.
Start date: 1st March 2025 (subject to necessary paperwork being concluded)

Primary Purpose of the Position (Job Description will provided on application):
The Near Patient Nurse will be considered the main executor of the Near Patient Program in country. The role of the Near Patient Nurse is to provide medical case management and communication to patients. They will work closely with the Near Patient team and work collaboratively with the in-country US Military Facility/s to ensure the patient is the main point of consideration.
Criteria to apply:
Registered General Nurse or equivalent with minimum 3 years of experience with registration to practice in country of work Experience of working in accordance with a Code of Professional Conduct (ie confidentiality etc) Experience of Microsoft Office software Broad professional experience of dealing with the public/patients/other health professionals Experience of multidisciplinary team working in the approach to care Management To understand the medical culture and organisation in host Nation Country Able to communicate in own language and proficiently in English (both oral and written)
Desirable
Experience of working in a complex organisation Experience across a range of in-hospital clinical experience Clinical experience and ability to audit health care providers in different environments and countries Experience of working with new technologies in health care practice and of clinical coding ICD 10 and when required procedure codes. Active and unrestricted driver's license
