Main Duties
o Uses process knowledge to identify opportunities for any improvements for the existing
operations.
o Leverage understanding of the unit to ensure smooth functioning.
o Coordinates with the team to ensure the adherence of section goals.
o Overall planning of the unit’s operational requirements and coordination with various
stakeholders within the unit to execute efficiently.
o Key point of contact for various sections within Workshop to provide regular updates and
reports on operational status.
o Key point of contact for BAS Top Management for seeking inputs on workshop relates
updates.
o Seeks status updates from sections within workshop to ensure efficiency of operations
(Daily status report meetings to determine priorities from list of scheduled maintenance
and requests for unscheduled maintenance).
o Provides input on the vehicle procurement procedure and ensures vehicle procured
meets required specifications; this includes evaluation of specific vehicles & GSE
purchases based on predetermined specifications and operation requirements,
recommendation on purchase requests of spare parts and stock and non-stock items etc.
o Ensures inspection and supervision of all completed repairs across sections and adhere
to quality control standards.
o Provides inputs on standard operating guidelines and monitors adherence to standard
workshop procedures with respect to the repair and overhaul of all requirements.
o Reviews technical reports and provides clarifications as required, this includes review of
historical data, spare parts usage etc.
o Approves changes to workshop practices to improve working conditions and ensures
adherence to maintenance standards and per guidelines and company regulations.
o Overall supervision of ground equipment inspection, planning and technical analysis
units. This includes accurate analysis of equipment defects and timely rectification.
o Receives timely and accurate statistical data; reviews these, ensures warranty work is
completed and informs concerned sections (Accounts etc.) for processing warranty
claims.
o Monitors and checks stock levels to ensure standard inventory levels are maintained.
o Conducts verifications of stock levels, reconcile actual figures against reports and
investigates in case of any discrepancies.
o Maintains and updates the library of technical manuals and drawings as per
manufacturer’s services bulletins and suggested modifications.
o Prepares annual budget for the department. Identifies opportunities to improve
profitability (increase sales or reduce costs) and implement these. Ensures adherence to
budget with minimal variance (if any).
o Reviews regular summary reports prepared by subordinates on job completion status;
this includes start and end time of job, delays, escalations, reasons etc.
o Monitors escalations and resolves queries as required to ensure uninterrupted
operations.
o Ensures technical, safety, and security standards are met through preparation for regular
monitoring and surprise checks.
o Comply with the Company and Airport authorities’ health, safety, and security
regulations.
