Job Description

Within our entity Saf Djazair, you are responsible for developing, maintaining and implementing the QHSE Management System. You will implement safe systems of work and safe behavioral practices at all levels of the organization to comply with local regulations and our Group standards.


You report all cases of non-compliance and significant risks in areas within your scope of responsibility.


HEALTH & SAFETY


  • Ensuring required standards of health and safety are always maintained on the company premises.
  • Guaranteeing compliance with good practices, behavior and procedures in terms of health and safety for production, baking personnel and visitors.
  • Monitoring compliance with Saf Djazair safety requirements through effective management of plant maintenance/monitoring, emergency responses, product stewardship, permit to work.
  • Ensuring company equipment runs in safety conditions.
  • Investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses, implementing lessons learned for prevention.
  • Managing the implementation and Sustenance of Management Systems.
  • Serving as the management representative to communicate all requirements and any changes of management systems.
  • Leading and conducting Fire and other emergency drills for all locations under responsibility in accordance with approved emergency response plans.
  • Managing the maintenance of the legal register through engagement of local authorities on permits, licenses and analysis reporting.

QUALITY


 Control


  • Performing the quality control tests on raw materials, environment, final product according to the control plan.
  • Readjusting with production, after validation with the formulator or Africa quality manager. 

 Assurance


  • Following- up on calibration schedules of machines and equipment with the production responsible and in the laboratory.
  • Acting as a custodian of the organization management systems - related documented and retained information.
  • Acting as a liaison between Saf Djazair and certification bodies, regulatory bodies, other interested parties in matters related to certification audits, statutory audits/inspections and customer audits.
  • Performing daily quality assurance visits to ensure quality system in place is respected.
  • Participating in a validation of new raw materials/packaging supplier.
  • Ensuring required standards of hygiene are always maintained in the production area.
  • Performing regular food safety inspections.
  • Assisting the handle of all requests about non-conformities and deviations from suppliers.
  • Managing consumer/customer complaint and customer satisfaction program.
  • Establishing corrective action plans and enforce implementation to reduce the number of customer and consumer complaints.
  • Performing supplier audits
  • Performing internal quality audits

QHSE MANAGEMENT


  • Managing documentation in relation to quality & health and safety and keeping all documentation up to date and distributing appropriately within the organization.
  • Developing HSE, Quality and Food safety cultures within the organization.
  • Determining statutory training and awareness requirements and communicate to HR to ensure the training is carried out.
  • Ensuring all safety training is carried out and induction programs for new employees include a thorough QHSE element.

REPORTING


  • Identifying issues and submiting reports to the line manager on performance and progress.
  • Daily record & report to superior of quality control deviations or daily quality visit.
  • Monthly report to functional Africa Quality Manager and whenever it’s necessary.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in food processing/agro-industrial technology or in a relevant field. 


Around 5 years of experience in the food industry or in food processing/agro-industrial technology or in a relevant field.


Knowledge in food safety which includes preparation, handling, and storage of food. Extensive knowledge of the H&S procedures. 


You are results oriented with excellent communication skills and you pay attention to details. Your good interpersonal skills allow you to motivate workers to change their practices. You like being on the ground as well as reflection and analysis.


English is a must have
