Job Description

Objective:


  • AgroStart is being launched in and for the Asia region; the global AgroStart team is supporting that activity (as it does in other AgroStart regions) with the placement of a Success Manager in the region.


  • The position plays a key role within Asia by supporting the region’s AgroStart leadership (Singapore), as well as active countries (currently, India and China).


  • The position also plays the key role of regularly liaising with the global team to ensure best practices from other AgroStart regions accelerate and improve local outcomes.


  • This position is intentionally located in India due to the strategic importance of the country as AgroStart matures in/for APA.


  • The permanent and primary objective of this position is to deliver return on investment for AP by inspiring and enabling the integration and scaling of impactful digital solutions created via AgroStart within/across the APA region and, where possible, to other active AgroStart regions.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Support with scouting for AgTech start-ups, and oversee evaluation, integration and scaling of digital solutions successfully found/made via BASF’s AgroStart program.


  • Evaluate “proof-of-concept” (PoC) results using standard and objective metrics; develop post-PoC plans that help stakeholders define optimum business or commercial models, as well as the operational structure required for long-term product or service delivery.


  • Ensure regional integration of successful solutions with target of $M+ returns for BASF and NPS-positive outcomes for partners and customers; orchestrate “internationalization” whenever possible.


  • Maintain global database of ongoing AgroStart projects and activities to ensure transparency and expedite synergies; frequently identify and craft stories based on positive outcomes for sharing inside and outside of BASF.


  • Be active stakeholder in modification of the AgroStart experience to minimize risk, maximize use of ecosystems and, overall, enable consistently better and bigger successes as the program matures.


  • Keep up with and voice perspective on relevant technology, community development and corporate-startup collaboration trends.


  • Take smart risks and champion new ideas


Job Requirements:


  • MBA preferred; Bachelor in social sciences, business, or related field with demonstrated experience building and scaling digital products or services accepted


  • 4 to 8 years experience in commercial or corporate strategy focusing on market access, pricing strategies, product launch and commercial due diligence.


  • Can analyze and conceptualize digital-native business models involving complex group of stakeholders and emerging technology (e.g., AI, advanced robotics, blockchain, etc.)


  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, and ability to apply both within multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is a must.


  • Knowledge of start-ups, accelerator ecosystems and venture investment is a major plus, as is an understanding of how agricultural technologies are being used to drive sustainability and improve farming practices.


  • Familiarity with change management and/or agile development methods also a plus
