Job Description

Job Purpose/Summary: 


What is the overall purpose of the role? What are the high level objectives/business impact/scope and responsibilities?


  • This role includes the responsibility of handling instruments such as spectroscopy, Chromatography, thermal, and rheometer to interpret data, method development, and make scientific reports with proper conclusions.


  • Play a key leadership role within the MSC team and train & mentor less experienced team members with your knowledge and experience.


  • Understand the product design and application and connect the same with material science for proper interpretation.


  • Interact /Interface with all sections of the Regional & Global Technical Teams and component experts, as well as the Manufacturing team.


  • Need to work with the technical service/ process/quality functions to help in solving problems related to customer complaints etc.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide technical solutions using material science 


    • Understand the existing product technically and link the same with material science


    • Work with COP and Global subject matter experts to establish new methods 


    • Produce technical reports on the Analytical requests.


    • Technical recommendation and solution to the requester on the problem


    • Problem-solving and root-cause analysis


    • Cross-functional team management/communication to close the Analytical request


    • Be a local SME for analytical-related quality issues 


    • Provide technical support to a cross-functional team.


  • Technical support to project team 


    • Work with NPD teams in identifying new product opportunities and assessing the commercial feasibility of new Products.


    • Coordinate with relevant functions in setting the project timeline to develop and introduce new products to the market.


    • Cross-functionally manage new product development projects along with the NPD team and relevant functions and ensure that the new product Introduction to the market is on schedule.


    • Analyze and identify performance gaps between the performance of existing product construction and how customers & end-users expect it to perform. Determine necessary actions to improve the performance of existing product construction to meet with customers & end-users’ requirements.


  • Lead problem-solving lab requests with appropriate technical methods


  • Resolve technical problems, troubleshoot and recommend technical solutions to meet customer needs and requirements.


  • Assess stakeholder needs in order to recommend appropriate methods and analytical tools.  Investigate new methods or improvements to resolve the requirement products with customers.


  • Gain a preliminary understanding of regulatory/compliance requirements related to product and market applications.


  •  Provide timely, detailed technical reports to resolve the complaints.


  •  Gather the feedback from customers & end-users on the existing product construction and improve its performance to meet with customers' & end-users’ requirements.



Qualifications

EDUCATION:


  • M.Sc. or M.tech. or Ph. D.  in polymer science or Material Characterisation of Polymer Sciences disciplines; Printing & Packaging or related field 


  • Required 3-5 years of experience.


  • Experience with material characterization, product development and product commercialization processes.


  • Excellent problem solving analysis and analytical skills


  • Excellent written technical and verbal communication and presentation skills.


  • Drive; document and execute strategies for business needs and timeframes.


  • Customer focus with strong customer relationship-building experience.


  • Independent and team player.


  • Lead project teams and facilitate / encourage strong multi functional team work.


ASPECTS HIGHLY PREFERRED: 


  • Knowledge in chromatography, rheometer and thermal instruments 


REQUIRED SKILLS:


  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.


  • Strong Technical report writing & Presentation skills.


  • Minitab & Statistical knowledge.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


  • Strong command of common computer software programs (i.e. MS Office; Minitab; Google Drive etc.).
